Installation notes

  1. Screw the rod (5) fully into the connector (4), 15 mm of thread engagement. The assembled terminal is 232.5 mm long.
  2. Crimp the bonding cable (7) to the rod end with the crimp connector (6), using a hydraulic crimp tool.
  3. Nail the plate (3) to the inside of the formwork through its three Ø4.5 holes, plate face against the shuttering. Plug the M10 thread so no concrete enters it.
  4. Run the cable to the nearest bar. Strip the insulation over the clamp length so the bare copper lies directly on the bar, then fix it with the rebar clamp (8) and tighten both nuts. Keep full concrete cover over all internal parts.
  5. After the pour, strip the formwork and remove the thread plug. The plate face stays flush with the wall.
  6. Bolt one lug (10) to the terminal with item 9, and the second lug to hole 1 of the earth bar with item 13. Holes 2–4 stay free for further bonds.
  7. Measure continuity between the earth bar and the reinforcement with a low-resistance ohmmeter and record the value.
